Hello, I'm
Gianfranco Cisneros
Hackerman, of House Nakamas IT. First of his name. Admin of the systems, and the techs, and protector of the realm.
WANTED: Someone to blame when the network goes down. Suspect is a Canadian IT administrator who runs a suspiciously well-organised operation called Nakamas IT. Last seen chasing a rogue VLAN at 2 AM and overengineering a homelab that has no business being this serious. Approach with coffee.
About
Nakamas IT started as a personal project to understand how IT actually works in a business context — not just in theory, but by deploying and running the same types of workloads that organizations rely on every day.
What began as a home lab has gradually evolved into something closer to a small production environment. That shift has been one of the most valuable learning experiences I've had, because running something for real — with real consequences when it breaks — teaches you things that no textbook lab ever could.
This site is the natural extension of that. The School section exists to share what I've learned through those real-world deployments, explained in a way that connects the dots between how a protocol works on paper and what you actually see in a packet capture or a production incident.
Interests
Networking
The kind of person who gets genuinely excited when a troubleshooting session leads to an unexpected routing loop. If it moves packets, I want to understand why — and I read routing tables for fun and consider a well-tuned OSPF topology a form of art.
Cybersecurity
Not paranoid, just prepared — and maybe a little paranoid. Security isn't a product you buy, it's a posture you build, and I've built a few. Zero-trust, defense-in-depth, EDR, and the thrill of tracing a lateral movement path through event logs at 2am.
Servers & Hypervisors
Give me a rack, a server, and a problem nobody else wants to touch. The deeper the infrastructure rabbit hole, the better — compute, storage, virtualization, the works — and the deeply satisfying sound of rack rails clicking into place.
Cloud
Came from on-prem, stayed for the scalability — reluctantly. Identity, device management, email, security — if it lives in a tenant I've probably broken it at least once. Yes, I know the cloud is just someone else's server. I try to know that person pretty well.
